I. Standard(s): Unit 4: 6.25-6.30
A. Clear Target: I can demonstrate mastery of all of the Unit 5 standards by showing an understanding of: The Key leaders; the important religions, their histories and impacts; and achievements by completing the retest.
B. Set: TTW lead a discussion on the clear target and or bell ringer to ensure that the students understand it/them and try to peak the students’ interest in the topic of the day.
C. Bell Ringer: TSW open their laptops. If they earned less than an 80% on their Unit 3 test, they are taking the retest. TSW check PowerSchool to see their grades so that they know if they are taking the retest. If TS received less than an 80% on the test, they need to get out something to write with and their own paper. On top of the paper, TSW write their name, and title it “India Retest.”
D. Presentation of New Material: Any student that did not attain a score of 80% or higher on the Unit test must take the retest by writing three sentence paragraphs on their own paper about each of the subjects. The students will use Google to find the information on the following subjects so that they can write their 3 sentence paragraphs describing and explaining the importance and or impacts of : 1. Siddhartha Gautama 2. Aryan Migration into India; 3. Monsoons 4. Indus River Valley 5. The Harrapan civilization’s cities 6. The impact of the Hindu Kush and the Himalayan Mountains 7. Buddhism 8.
