I. Standard(s):
HS.WH.CE.1 Examine effects of the movement of people, cultures, goods, diseases and technologies through established systems of connection, including the Silk Roads, Trans Saharan Trade Routes and Indian Ocean Maritime System between 1300-1450.
HS.WH.CO.1 Assess how inter- and intra-regional interactions shaped the development of empires and cultures in multiple global regions between 1300-1750.
HS.WH.CH.2 Explain continuities and changes within the religion, ideology, science and arts of empires and nation-states in multiple global regions between 1300-1750.
HS.WH.CH.3 Analyze changes and continuities within and among the Indian Ocean Maritime System, Trans-Saharan System and Silk Roads due to technology and the opening of the Atlantic System between 1300-1750.
HS.WH.CE.2 Analyze the political, economic, geographic and social causes and effects of exploration and colonization between 1450-1750.
A. Clear Target: I can demonstrate an understanding of the Renaissance, its origins in Italy, its spread to the rest of Europe, the impacts of the Renaissance on Europe, and the Renaissance differences between Italy and Northern Europe. I will know that I have it when I can complete a test with at least 80% accuracy over the topic.
B. Set: TTW introduce the activity for the day
C. Bell Ringer: This is a two day lesson. TSW take a study guide from the front table and complete it no later than by the end of the next class. This is a 2 person group activity, and TSW choose a partner to work with.
D. Presentation of New Material: TSW choose a partner and work on their study guide in preparation for the upcoming unit test. TS may use their notes, the book, and the presentation that is at the following link: The Renaissance.

E. Guided Practice: TTW demonstrate for the students how to: Find and complete the lesson for the day; find, open , complete and turn in any documents/assignments. TTW have a student demonstrate all of the steps. TTW assist, and have the class assist the student demonstrator as needed.
F. Independent Practice (The assignments are due the next school day): Using their notes, assignments, and knowledge from the lessons, TSW complete a study guide over the unit. During class TTW move around the class room periodically to monitor and assist the students.
G. Closure: Review and grade study guide at the end of class if time permits…if not, do so the next class day.
