A. Clear Target: I can discuss Italian society and its evolution because of the Renaissance. I will know that I have it when I can complete a notes questionnaire over the Renaissance Society with at least 80% accuracy.
B. Set/Interest Cue: Bell Ringer and TTW tell some jokes, or ask some riddles to the students in order to get their brains ready for learning.
C. Bell Ringer: This is a 2-day lesson
1. Day 1 Bell Ringer: TSW complete the Italian City-States II Lesson Review. Here is the link.
2. Day 2 Bell Ringer: TSW complete the Renaissance Society Lesson Review. Here is the link.
D. Vocabulary: TTW review the clear target with the students ensuring understanding of the new terms (if any) and then lead a discussion on the bell ringer to ensure that the students understand the information in the lesson from the class prior.
E. Presentation of New Material: This is a 2-day lesson
1. Day 1: TSW take notes on a video lecture over the Renaissance: Italian Society (the link is at number 4 below). TSW then complete DBQs on the Renaissance Societal Changes, and the People of the Renaissance in the Basket of Goodness 2.
2. Day 2: TSW complete their notes on the video lecture of the Italian Renaissance Society (the link is at number 4 below) and then in the Basket of Goodness 2, they will complete the Primary and Secondary Sources Activity, The Renaissance in Europe worksheets, and the Renaissance Economy DBQ. If TS complete all of the lesson activities in the Basket of Goodness 2, they need to work on the Vocabulary section of the Basket of Goodness 2 and complete it.
3. Early Finishers (Both Days): If and students gets done with all of their notes and completes the entire Basket of Goodness 2 prior to the end of class, they will play a Gimkit. Here is the link to the Renaissance Gimkit
