Unit 1, Ancient African and Southeast Asian Empires; Lesson 8: Benchmark

I.  Standard(s): HS.WH.CH.2 Explain continuities and changes within the religion, ideology, science and arts of empires and nation-states in multiple global regions between 1300-1750.

HS.WH.CH.3 Analyze changes and continuities within and among the Indian Ocean Maritime System, Trans-Saharan System and Silk Roads due to technology and the opening of the Atlantic System between 1300-1750.

HS.G.MM.2 Evaluate reasons for the spatial distribution of human populations at different scales on Earth’s surface.

HS.WH.CH.1 Analyze the rise and fall of major states and empires in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas between 1300-1500.

     A.  Clear Target: I can demonstrate an understanding of the unit 1 standards.  I will know that I have it when I can complete the benchmark test with at least 80% accuracy.

     C.  Bell Ringer: TSW review their notes in preparation for the benchmark test.

     E.  Presentation of New Material: TSW take a Benchmark Test over the material they have covered up to this point.  Here is the link.  After the benchmark test TS will go to Quizlet and log into my classroom for their period so they can complete the Unit 1 African and Southeast Asian Empires Vocabulary.  To complete this, TS must complete: An all multiple choice test with all of the questions included while attaining an 80% or higher; the matching game; the flashcards.

E. Presentación de material nuevo: TSW realiza una prueba comparativa sobre el material que ha cubierto hasta este momento.  Después de la prueba de referencia, TS irá a Quizlet e iniciará sesión en mi salón de clases durante su período para que puedan completar la Unidad 1 del Vocabulario de los imperios africanos y del sudeste asiático. Para completar esto, TS debe completar: Una prueba de opción múltiple con todas las preguntas incluidas y obtener un 80% o más; el juego de correspondencias; las tarjetas didácticas.

1. Exit Ticket: TSW answer the Check for Understanding Questions on their own paper and turn it in no later than the start of the next class period.  TS must be prepared to discuss the answers to the questions during the next class period. N/A
