B. Set/Interest Cue: Bell Ringer and TTW tell some jokes, or ask some riddles to the students in order to get their brains ready for learning.

D. Vocabulary: TTW review the clear target with the students ensuring understanding of the new terms (if any) and then lead a discussion on the bell ringer to check for understanding. TTW review and explain any information that is not understood by the students.
E. Presentation of New Material: This is a 2 day lesson.TSW complete a jigsaw preview of the upcoming unit. TSW be part of a group of 4 students. TTW assign them their group by assigning each student a number from 1-4, and a letter from a-? until all of the groupings of 4 have been completed for the entire class. Each group of 4 students will get a different letter to go with their number. Thus, there will be group A, with numbers 1-4; group B, with numbers 1-4 etc. TTW then pass out the jigsaw worksheets. All students with a number 1 will research on their own, the section I questions. Students with a number 2 will research, on their own, the section II questions. Numbers 3 and four will follow the patter accordingly. Each group member will then use Google to research the three questions in their section. TSW 20 minutes to come up with the dates each kingdom/empire existed, and a minimum of 3 facts about each kingdom/empire in their sections. TSW then have 10 minutes each to teach the other members of their group about the kingdoms/empires in their sections. This part will continue the next school day until all of TS have completed the task. On day 2 of the lesson, after the students have completed their teaching tasks, TS will put away their worksheets and play a review game with the teacher.
