I. Standard(s): N/A Setting Expectations
A. Clear Target: I can determine and follow reasonable behaviors and expectations for a classroom environment. I will know that I have it when I can suggest at least two reasonable behaviors and or expectations, and follow all of the selected .
B. Set/Interest Cue: Post it White Pages on wall. Bell Ringer and TTW tell some jokes, or ask some riddles to the students in order to get their brains ready for learning.
C. Bell Ringer: TSW draw a map of how to get to their favorite restaurant or favorite place to go outside of their home. They will include at least 3 landmarks (not the starting location or ending location), a legend/key and a map scale bar at a minimum.
D. Vocabulary: TTW review the clear target with the students ensuring understanding of the new terms (if any) and then lead a discussion on the bell ringer to ensure that the students understand the information in the lesson from the class prior.
E. Presentation of New Material: TSW complete the bell ringer and then get broken down into groups (counting method with groups by numbers). TSW go to their station and come up with a list of 5 rules/expectations for the class. TSW have one person read their answers. As they are reading, the other group speakers will look at their list and line out anything that is duplicated with a group that reads before them. This will provide a class list without any duplicates. If there are questions about the rule/expectation being duplicated (similar but not exact for example) the group speaker will ask after the current group completes the reading of their rules. When all of the lists have been read, questions answered, and duplicates lined out, TS will rotate to each station and put a checkmark next to any rule/expectation that they think needs to be a classroom rule/expectation.
