Note:  TTW= The Teacher Will; TSW= The Students Will; GCR= Google Classroom

I.  Standard(s): Unit 4 Standards 6.20-6.24 and Unit 3 Standards 6.13-6.19

     A.  Clear Target:

1.  I can demonstrate my understanding of ancient Egypt by completing the re-test with at least a 100%

2. I can demonstrate any prior knowledge and my ability to demonstrate new knowledge on ancient Israel by completing the pretest with at least an 80%

     B.  Set: TTW lead a discussion on the clear target and or bell ringer to ensure that the students understand it/them and try to peak the students’ interest in the topic of the day.

     C.  Bell Ringer: TSW open their laptops and join the appropriate class period’s Edpuzzle if they have not already done so. If TS have joined Edpuzzle in the appropriate class, they will skip to section “D. Presentation of New Material” and begin their assignment for the day.

          2.  Review:  After the class has answered the question to the best of their ability, TTW assess if there needs to be a review of the previous day’s lesson.  If a review is needed, TTW have the students get out their notes and will review the material with them. If no review is needed TTW have the students get ready for today’s lesson.

     D.  Presentation of New Material: Any student that did not attain a score of 80% or higher on the last Unit test must take the retest.  The retest is located in TS’ class period’s GCR.  TSW have three chances to take the retest to get a 100%.  If TS get a 100% TS will take their computer to the teacher and show their score so that extra credit points can be awarded.  After the students complete the retest they are to work on the Edpuzzle: Ancient Israel/Judaism.  TSW go go Edpuzzle through Class Link if still available, or by signing into Edpuzzle directly.  After TS are in Edpuzzle, TSW find the Ancient Israel/Judaism assignment in their Edpuzzle class and complete it.

     E.  Guided Practice: TTW show the students how to get to and use Quizlet.  TTW also show the students how to set up the test in Quizlet and explain what they are doing to complete the day’s lesson.  TTW then choose a student at random to perform the same tasks.

    F.  Independent Practice (The assignments are due the next school day unless otherwise stated):                                                                                                                             1.  TS that received less than an 80% on the last unit test will go to their class period’s GCR and complete the retest from section “D.  Presentation of New Material”                                                                                                                                                2. ALL SW complete the Ancient Israel/Judaism Edpuzzle, also found in section “D.  Presentation of New Material,” prior to the next class day. After TS complete the retest and or the Edpuzzle, they can work on missing work, write, read or draw.

   G.  Closure:  TTW assess students work on the Edpuzzle and the retest as the class progresses.  The closure will be a brief review of the next unit after all of TS have completed their work for the day if time allows.  Otherwise, the closure will be a simple reminder to complete the Edpuzzle prior to the next class day.
