Unit 3, Ancient Egypt; Lesson 9: Face Off

Note:  TTW= The Teacher Will; TSW= The Students Will; GCR= Google Classroom 

I.  Standard(s):  6.13-6.19: 

     A.  Clear Target:  I can demonstrate a general understanding of the ancient Egyptian society.

     B.  Bell Ringer: Study your flashcards.

     C.  Set: TTW lead a discussion on the clear target and or bell ringer to ensure that the students understand it/them.  TTW lead a discussion on the assignment from the day before to ensure understanding.

     D.  Presentation of New Material:  N/A

          1.  Checks For Understanding (CFU):  Hints during Face Off Game.

          2.  Video in Video N/A

          3.  Simulation:  N/A

     E.  Guided Practice: TTW explain to the students how to play the game and give directions to the students that have not completed their flashcards.

    F.  Independent Practice (The assignments are due the next school day unless otherwise stated):  TSW study their flashcards when not participating in the game.  Students that do not have their flashcards done will complete them.

     G.  Closure:  TSW be able to answer the following question(s) in the class discussion the next class day:  What label would you give the Egyptian’s religion? What do you think that the Egyptian’s Gods meant to the Egyptians and why?

     H.  Assessment:  Question and answer/Discussions/The guided practice/Closure discussion/Quiz if used/ Exit Ticket if used;
