I. Standard(s): Unit 3 Standards 6.13-6.19
A. Clear Target: I can demonstrate my understanding of ancient Egypt by completing the re-test with at least a 100% and I can gain a general understanding of ancient Israel by completing the Webquest.
B. Set: TTW lead a discussion on the clear target and or bell ringer to ensure that the students understand it/them and try to peak the students’ interest in the topic of the day.
C. Bell Ringer: TSW open their laptops. If they earned less than an 80% on their Unit 3 test, they are taking the retest. TSW check PowerSchool to see their grades so that they know what tests they are taking.
D. Presentation of New Material: Any student that did not attain a score of 80% or higher on the Unit three test must take the retest if they have not already. TS that were absent and have yet to take test, must take the test by the end of the class period. The test and retest are found in Edulastic. TS that are done with the test and retest (and TS that complete the test and retest in class) will use Google to find the answers to the questions on the Webquest. The Webquest link below will take TS to Google Classroom. TS must select the document from the upper right hand corner, and then the document will open. To work on the document, TS must select “Open With Google Slides” from the top center of the screen. This will allow them to type their answers and manipulate the content as needed. E. Guided Practice: TTW show the students how to get to and complete the retest, and the Webquest so they can complete the day’s lesson. TTW then choose a student at random to explain the same tasks.
F. Independent Practice (The assignments are due the next school day unless otherwise stated):
1. TSW complete the retest if they did not receive an 80% or higher on the last unit test. Then they will move to number 2 below and complete that assignment.
2. TSW complete the Ancient Israel WebQuest. Students that received an 80% or higher will start this immediately. Students that received less than an 80% will complete this after the retest.
G. Closure: TTW ask the students to share something that they learned about ancient Israel.
